Who are you?

• We are a group of people who live in Manchester.  We think that the pursuit of un-selective economic growth economics causes more problems than it solves, ecologically, socially and also economically.  We are promoting instead the ideas of post-growth, steady state, ecological economics and applying them to the very challenging reality of Manchester – by which we mean Manchester, its city region and the wider hinterland – the Manchester Bioregion.

• We are a membership organisation (as of Jan 2016) led by a small collective that works with a wider range of people from various organisations (or none).  See our constitution.

Are you a political party?

• No.  We will work with any politicians seriously interested in socially just alternatives to economic growth.

What are you trying to achieve?

• To make the ideas of a steady state society and economy more widely known, debated and understood.
• To develop those ideas both practically and theoretically, here in Manchester.
