Roger Bysouth, Steady State Manchester collective
I’ve worked in London and Manchester in all sorts of voluntary organisations, as well as for Manchester City Council on regeneration. Now I’m semi-retired, writing bids for the voluntary sector. Much of my work has related to communities and health and well-being. I’m in Steady State Manchester as I think we urgently need to work out what we are going to do about economic growth, which at the moment is depleting natural resources, damaging the environment, and in particular hastening climate change. And the best place to start is locally and regionally. I’m not an expert in any of the issues we take on, but am learning as we go along – above all that we’re more effective by working together.
