Kirit Patel, Steady State Manchester collective

Kirit is the Project Co-ordinator for Southern Voices, a Manchester based voluntary group focused on global education, equality and social justice issues.  He has over 20 years’ experience as a manager, community development worker and trainer in the voluntary and community sector.   Over this time, Kirit managed Oxfam’s Race Equality Programme in England, worked for Black Health Agency (now BHA), and the Kath Locke Centre (part of the Big Life Group) promoting health initiatives for ethnic minorities and disadvantaged groups in Manchester.
Kirit is a trustee for Breakthrough UK, an employment social enterprise for disabled people; Chair of Can-Survive UK, a cancer support charity for ethnic minorities in Greater Manchester; and a committee member of the West Point Residents Association. Since 2015, Kirit is studying for an MA in Creative Education at the University of Salford.
